Coding since 12: Digital Girl 2014

She’s only 12 years old but she already knows what it’s like to be recognized all over Europe. Her name is Manon Van Hoorebeke and she has been declared the European Digital Girl of the Year, a title she won thanks to her initiatives to help girls of all ages get into and excited about the world of technology and programming.

For this pre-teen, “technology is the future” and she knows there’s still a lot more to be done. Although she’s not sure what it is she’ll end up doing for work when she grows up or what ideas she’ll develop, it’s worth taking a few minutes to hear what this digital girl of the year has to say!

It's great to see how girls get involved in tech. We still have to deal with that disgrace of having girls only wanting to be cute and popular
