FACE Helsinki. Spare time... What does it mean?

We're nearing the end of our path to entrepreneurship and also getting closer to completing the compilation of entrepreneurs’ fears. There are few places as suitable as Helsinki for doing completing this journey. The Finnish capital an entrepreneurial icon, a place full of opportunities and where we'll address the last fear that we've identified in our DELPHI study: the fear of losing free time and personal freedom.

 Dr. Claudia Nagel

Co-founder and Managing Director at KIWI.KI GmbH

Prior to KIWI Claudia worked for nine years as consultant and project manager with McKinsey. Her focus was within the Travel, Transport and Logistics sector and she has wide-ranging expertise in the design and optimization of production networks. She served international clients in the IT, high-tech and security industries.

 

Joe Haslam

Co-founder & Chairman at Hot.es, Associate Professors at IE University & IE Business School

Joe Haslam is the Chairman and Cofounder of Hot Hotels, Europe's leading mobile only last minute hotel booking app. Hot sells hotel rooms in 54 countries and was the first startup from Spain to be accelerated by the Techstars program in the USA. Joe has cofounded a number of other companies including e-procurement startup Marrakech.com which raised over $75m in Venture Capital. At IE Business School, he is the Executive Director of the Owners Management Program an Executive Education Program designed for startups that want to scale. In the MBA program, he teaches an elective called Trillion Dollar Challenges which focuses on the impact exponential technologies are having in fields such as Energy, Telecoms, Agriculture, Heath and Education. From Ireland, Joe has lived in Madrid for the last 12 years.

 

He will also be leading the workshop for entrepreneurs at FACE Helsinki. 

 

Michaela Von Kügelgen

Freelance Journalist, Founder of Pinions

Michaela is a Helsinki based journalist, aspiring author and entrepreneur. She studied Communication, Marketing and Social Sciences and she has worked as freelance journalist for several years. In 2015, she founded her own company, “Pinions”, which revolves around creativity, crafting and writing. Given her passion for entrepreneurship, Michaela also produces a podcast program in Swedish about this topic with her business partner Malin Båtmästar. Michaela will be moderating the FACE Helsinki event. 

 

 

Elina Uutela

 CEO & Co-founder at Oppimo

Elina Uutela is a future-oriented consultant, entrepreneur and community enthusiast. With a background in Aaltoes, Slush and Helsinki Think Company, she has been building initiatives – not without failing – for many years in the heart of Helsinki's startup scene. Right now she is a Future Work Specialist at Gapps, trying to help companies work smarter with new cloud technologies. 

 

 

Nina Ignatius

CEO & Founder at Beibamboo

Nina has a long multi-national career in branding and graphic design including Paris, Tokyo, Sydney, London, Edinburgh and Helsinki. She is a mum to a prematurely born daughter, and is very familiar with the struggles of not only a preemie at the hospital, but also everyday clothing challenges any mum or dad is familiar with. She has also been invited on several occasion to give inspirational talks about entrepreneurship. Nina is fluent in Swedish (native), Finnish, English, French and communicates a bit in Spanish, German and Japanese. Nina lives in Helsinki with her daughter. On her spare time she enjoys a good movie and long walks in the forest with her daughter.
